The product lasted a little longer than expected to arrive but it did so in perfect condition.
Remote only by name..May 16, 2010 Minor Prophet(UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This set provides one with a wireless remote control to fire the shutter on a Nikon D300 via a small sensor plugged into the camera's multi-pin socket. It also comes with an electronic cable cable release. Both much cheaper than Nikon branded versions.
Works well for a light amateur user like me but may be found wanting for heavy professional use.

Bought this for my D300 as the nice little infrared remote that worked with my D40 does not work with Nikons more expensive DSLRs. The unit is well made and comes with a nice Nikon carry case (quite difficult to make it fit back in so take a good look at how it fits BEFORE you pull it all out!)
Easy to fit to camera and very easy to use. Easily performs over the stated distance and because there is no physical contact with the camera you can get pin sharp pictures when used on a tripod. The camera receiver can be twisted to any position so you can "fire" the camera from behind/front/side (something you cannot do with the smaller remotes on the D40 etc. as the receiver is fitted to the front face of the camera itself.
This item is only a few pounds more than the wired version and gives you much greater flexibility, however because the receiver is powered from the camera battery it ties up the "hotshoe" on the camera which means you cannot use the flash without buying some (no doubt expensive Nikon) adaptor.
Other than the small point mentioned above this is an excellent unit and highly recommended.
One more point is that it looks, excuse the pun, FLASH !!!
